Stop FEMA Now rally, 'grassroots uprising'

  • February 8, 2013

Local property owners are mad and they're "not going to take it any more!"

A public rally dubbed "Stop FEMA Now" will take place tomorrow (Saturday, February 9th) from 3 to 4 pm at 708 Fischer Blvd., Toms River (Belly Busters Restaurant).

The "grassroots uprising" aims to "make our voices heard from Trenton to Washington."  Organizers invite Sandy victims and everyone else in FEMA's revised flood zones to "come and strategize how to stop the madness."

A website, Facebook.com/StopFemaNow, cites FEMA's "seriously flawed maps, overkill house elevation mandates, exorbitant insurance premiums, slow insurance damage payments and ineffectual politicians."

Property and business owners from the entire Shore region are invited to participate in the rally and learn about future efforts.
