$200 in Cash, Jewelry Stolen in Gilford Park Daytime Burglary
Home was forcibly entered, thieves targeted cash and jewelry in bedroom
Toms River Police are investigating a home burglary in the Gilford Park section, when a suspect took cash and valuables from a Lillie Road home before 2 p.m. today, police said.
The Tuesday burglary took place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the unoccupied home in the 500 block of Lillie Road, Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said.
"The resident returned home and found their house burglarized," Mastronardy said.
The front door of the home had pry marks, said the police chief, and the suspect targeted the bedroom to find cash and jewelry.
Police said $200 in cash and multiple items of jewelry were taken from a bedroom dresser. "We're still sorting out to get full descriptions of the jewelry taken," Mastronardy said.
Officer Vincent Pedalino and Eric Divone are investigating the burglary.
