Democrat Shelley Adler's Ocean County congressional campaign will be based in Brick.
The challenger to incumbent Republican Congressman Jon Runyan will open her Ocean County office Thursday. Adler will appear along with other Democratic officials at the office in the Yorktowne Plaza shopping center on Yorktowne Boulevard, over the border with Toms River, at 6:30 p.m. for a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The public will be offerred an evening of "food, fun and refreshments," a flyer announcing the event said.
Adler kicked off her campaign to unseat Runyan in Brick this spring. She is the wife of the late Democratic Congressman John Adler, who died suddenly in April 2011. He served one term, having been elected in 2008 and defeated in 2010, representing New Jersey's third congressional district, which covered most of Ocean County at the time.
Shelley Adler's campaign could prove more difficult than her late husband's, however, since the latest round of congressional redistricting has left the third district devoid of a Democratic-leaning large town – Cherry Hill – and in possession of a Republican-leaning large town – Brick, which previously was located within the fourth district.
Adler lives in Cherry Hill, but is allowed to run for the seat because she lived there prior to the redistricting process.
Despite some generic trends that would seem to favor Runyan, the race is being considered competitive by pundits. The influential Cook Political Report recategorized the race as "leaning Republican" from "likely Republican," and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has pledged to fund Adler's challenge through its "Red to Blue" initiative which seeks to elect Democrats in districts with incumbent GOP representatives.

Why? Do you so love that donkey-loving, steroid using moron that lied his way in to congress. He is a half-wit that would not know the truth if it hit him in his fat face.

How much money did Runyon receive from the oil billionaires, the Koch Brothers whose company is among the top 10 in air polluters in the US, and by the way, they don't believe in Global Warming As Half the Country is in a Draught !!!
Make Runyon reveal his money sources, NOW !

Bunion voted to kill Medicare, so he's likely to vote for oil drilling off the Jersey shore, continued fertilizer pollution of the bay and other right-wing-nut "freedoms."
Too many hits to his head while playing with the Eagles.

It's legal for her to run, in spite of the R's redistricting Cherry Hill out of the District, and adding the mostly Republican communities of Brick and Mantoloking to District Three to protect Runyan.
I am running as an independent candidate - "Democratic Republican" - the party of Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, and JQ Adams...which means I support a strict interpretation of and adherence to the US Constitution, which is to be a bit in the mouth of the legislature, with the reins held by "We, the People". Strong States' and individual rights, and an abhorrance for central banking.
Runyan benefits from Citizens United decision, so he won't touch that third rail, any more than Shelley Adler will touch ObamaCare - which she has finally been painted into a corner by Runyan into stating she supports, unlike her husband she implies she is channelling, who OPPOSED ObamaCare as a Democrat specifically because there was no clear indication as to how it was to be paid for...She has to say she's "for" it to keep the D vote - but her husband was not. Runyan had six strong challengers in the primary, which means even his base isn't sure he can do the job. I am running as a third alternative, and, if you want to know where I stand, a review of the Constitution is a good place to start. I am tired of watching a two-horse race where the same lobbyists own both horses. I am beholden to neither party. FrederickJohnLaVergneforCongress on FB to learn more.

We're not raising money, we're raising eyebrows - check out "LaVergne v. Bryson, et al", Docket # 12-1171 in the Federal Third Circuit Court of Appeals. Oral Arguments are scheduled for 09/14/2014. Neither Runyan nor Adler will respond to our repeated requests for their position on Article the First of the "Articles of Amendment" (The "Bill of Rights), which was discovered last Fall to have been ratified back in 1792. This is no "birther" lawsuit. It gives the power of Congress BACK to the CONSTITUENTS, and breaks the yoke of the lobbyists and special interests. wcprv@hotmail.com to learn more.

Has Mrs. Adler moved into the district she wants to represent yet? Cherry Hill is still part of Democrat Camden County right.
