Amy's Omelette House On Hold for Toms River

New business set to move into site of old Friendly's restaurant

If you're craving a fluffy omelet on northern Main Street anytime soon, you will have to wait.

The new Amy's Omelette House franchise scheduled to open this past March has been temporarily delayed. The breakfast business, which features a wide array of customizable omelets, is set to move into the old Friendly's location at 804 Main St.

Amy's Omelette House has two other locations. One is in Long Branch and the other is in Burlington.

The renovation process has already begun at the new establishment.  A new paint scheme and a few alterations have been made to the building. An advertisement sign was posted earlier this year on the billboard, but was later taken down.

The owner of the Long Branch location also owns the new Toms River Amy's.

He said the building remodeling has been put on hold for now. He also added that they do not have a date planned for continuing the remodeling as of yet.

As it stands the building is unattended in the former Friendly's, which was closed last year.

Correct. The business name is "omlette house", but you could spell the word either way.

I guess a vacant building in a busy area wouldn't be very interesting.

I wish Amy's the best of luck, but Friendly's failed for a reason. That location is horrible, and that Friendly's was never busy.

i do not believe that location is horrible.. two high schools, county courts, lawyers, sheriffs, businesses, downtown hubs, ghetto apartments, 37 shopping... just most knew the food @ friendlys WAS GARBAGE and their cook was arrested in 2004 for stabbing a waiter!

so a decently priced eatery with quality food and excellence in customer service, along with take out and possibly Delivery/Catering CAN SUCCEED

I worked that at location. The restaurant did not close due to the food being terrible or business it was because the rent went up tremendisly. Also it was not a franchise we are a franchise now at some locations but this location was never a franchise
