Update 9 p.m.: The accident is cleared and traffic is moving freely.
Some traffic delays were being reported Thursday evening on the Garden State Parkway's southbound lanes at mile marker 85.9 near the border of Brick and Toms River as a result of a car fire.
The right and center lanes were blocked at 7:50 p.m. following an accident that left a car overturned and on fire, according to state officials. Firefighters from Pleasant Plains and Toms River Fire District 2 were responding, alongside Toms River Police EMS.

A moderate traffic delay was reported in the general vicinity, which is just north of the Toms River toll plaza.
