Christie to Hold 'Town Hall' in Brick Next Week
Governor will host 'town hall' meeting at Lake Riviera Middle School as budget battle looms
Gov. Chris Christie will host a town hall meeting in Brick next week, his office said late Monday.
The meeting will be held next Tuesday, June 26 at Lake Riviera Middle School off Beaverson Boulevard. Doors open at 2:15 p.m. and seating will be on a first come, first serve basis, Christie's staffers said. The event is free, and open to the public.
The governor's ongoing series of town halls, where queries from the public are taken in addition to the governor's statements, are often packed events that cover a range of topics concerning both state and local issues.
Previous town halls held throughout the state have seen Christie go on the offensive against political rivals, promote his public policy agenda and, occasionally, survive some heckling.
The Brick appearance could prove especially interesting for political observers, as it will come just days before the state's fiscal year comes to an end July 1.
Christie, a Republican, and Democrats in the state legislature have locked horns in recent weeks over the governor's plan to cut state income tax rates by 10 percent over three years despite a level of uncertainty surrounding state revenue projections. Other ongoing debates this budget season have included the administration's plan to merge Rutgers University in Camden with Rowan University, as well as a transportation borrowing plan that has drawn the ire of some conservatives.
Residents interested in attending the meeting can call the governor’s office at 609-777-2500 for more information or to RSVP.

It will be a standing room only crowd no doubt. Christie is the only governor or politician in recent history who has the guts to tell it like it is and make the hard choices. The real losers are the last two Democratic governors. I cant imagine anyone going to a Town Hall to listen to those two clowns.

Well time sure told what McGreevey and Coroslime were about, Christie is trying to clean up this state with no support in Congress. Just this week the unions for Port Authority had to give up perks that were unneeded and abused that we paid for...keep going Mr. Christie, you have my vote!!

Somebody ask His Largeness about the tax break he wants to give his wealthy cronies at the expense of the rest of us taxpayers. He'll bully you with his response.
Here's a news report of his "spin" tactics from another town meeting: "Again, Christie failed to mention the words millionaires' tax, but told people at Holland Brook Elementary School that budget committees passed an “$800 million income tax increase.” Democrats say they want to use the revenue to boost the Homestead Rebate program, which provides property tax relief to the elderly and middle class."

Sadly i must say he is just another disapointment in a long line of politicians. About 20 years ago i remember a Mr. Florio that was going to fix the high cost of auto ins. rates. Im still waiting.
