Library to Host Sandy Resource Expos Next Week

Event will be held in Toms River and Stafford starting Monday

Locals are invited to meet with representatives from the local to federal level next week during two Hurricane Sandy resource expos at Ocean County Library branches.

The "Beyond Sandy: The Storm Resource Expo," sponsored by the Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders, will be held on from 2 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 17 at the library's Stafford branch and Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Toms River branch.

"Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from local, county, state and federal agencies that can help connect them with the proper resources to recover from the storm’s aftermath," said library spokesman Larry Meegan in a statement.

The information specialists on-hand will be able to answer questions and provide guidance on topics like financial aid, finding a contractor, avoiding scams, remediation and emotional support, Meegan said.

The free expo is open to the public and registration is not required to attend, according to Meegan.

Those who want more information or have an organization that is interested in participating can call Valerie Bell or Nancy Bierbrauer at the 732-349-6200, ext. 5404 or 5408, respectively.
