Lincoln's Birthday: Schools Open, But No Garbage Pick-up
What's open, what's closed?
It's not a national holiday, but figuring out what's open and what's closed is still a consideration for Lincoln's Birthday.
Toms River Regional schools are open. For President's Day, schools are closed Feb. 17 through Feb. 20.
However, garbage pick-up and recycling is canceled for the day. If you're regularly scheduled pick-up is Monday, it's moved to Tuesday. If you are scheduled for garbage pickup this week, it is one day later.
Ocean County Library and Ocean County College are both open.
Mass transit is running on a regulary Monday schedule.

"If you are scheduled for garbage pickup this week, it is one day later." Isn't everybody supposed to have pickup this week? The question now is: Is recycling pushed back one day, too?

I will have that problem next week because of President's Day .. my regular recycling day is Thursday, but it will be Friday instead ..

These ridiculous giveaways of tax dollars have to stop... Presidents' Day replaced Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays decades ago.

I think the only place where Lincoln's birthday is a holiday is Toms River. You are right President's Day replaced both Washington and Lincoln's birthday except here with no garbage pick up.

They're not the most carefully edited on here but I think they meant rather than that repetitive garble that if you're reg robo can pickup is mon it's Tues now and if you are scheduled for recyclables this wk it's a day later too?!

i was wondering why my garbage wasnt picked up. think the township will notice if i paint my recycable can black to match my garbage pail? getting recycables picked up every other week is terrible. if you miss one pick up then you sit on a months worth of recycables... ready to just stop recycling
