Man Briefly Missing From Ocean County Mall

Captain confirms elderly man was found at mall

An elderly resident was reported missing from the Ocean County Mall after 5 p.m., and was found unharmed shortly thereafter, police said.

The man's name was not released, but Toms River Police Capt. Steven Henry said local and county police were called in response to a mall security report of a missing individual.

The man was found on the mall property unharmed before 6 p.m.

Not really something to make fun of. The man could have alzheimers or something. It is a scary situation. Not many details here for a story, but still not really a situation to make fun of.

if he has a medical issue then he shouldn't be left alone in the mall...
teenagers are not allowed to why should seniors that don't buy anything they just take up all the sitting areas so no one else can sit down ( & If you happen to get a seat & not them they look at you . like "aren't you going to get up for me" sorry, never felt this way about seniors but after 14 yrs in Ocean Cnty, you start to see the entitlement & rudeness they seem to have ( YES worse) than the teenagers ... Glad the man was ok , but what was he just doing? & Again if he has issues medical or mental then he shouldn't be on his own in the mall.

Sunny.....let's hope that you never become a senior.
You took a story about a missing man and turned it into your own personal soap box against seniors. I personally have never seen the things that you are describing. You must spend a lot of time at the mall.
Would you be so cruel if a child had wandered away from their mother?? I doubt it.

I have a child with disabilities & I don't let him out of my sight , as should have not let this mans family. instead of you finding fault with what I wrote trying reading it .. I Did say I was glad the man was ok. & as far as going to the mall I go about 2x a year I hate going to the mall ... If you have not seen any of those things Iam talking about either ya live under a rock Or you dont get out much. i

I would be scared & upset if that was my father ( also a senior) BUT I would make sure he was not alone if he was able to navigate for himself.
Glad the man was found safe.
As far as Sunny ... I get where your coming from have lived in Brick for 15 yrs & they do try to take over all the shopping areas. & I too have ran into very rude seniors.
