Man Seen Firing Gun In Gilford Park

No reports of an arrest

A man was seen firing a gun in the air after police responded to a "disturbance" in the Gilford Park section on Saturday morning.

At 4:30 a.m., police responded to reports that shots were heard at 625 Barnegat Avenue. An investigation revealed a disturbance in the home that carried into the street.

At that point, a dark-skinned male shot a gun into the air, and then left in a red vehicle, police said. Officers recovered a 9 mm casing in the street, where the incident occurred.

Paul, My grandparents built the first home in Gilford Park many years ago. In 1953 my father built a home there so my mother could spend her summers close to her family. I take offense at your comment that it ALWAYS has been trailer park trash!

Now now, leave the fine folks from trailer parks out of this. Gilford Park is just pure trash. I have lived down here for 35 years and it always has been like that. Sorry if the truth hurt's.

Noodle, I agree GP has gone down in the last 36 or so years. There was only one trailer park in GP and yes that had a reputation. The rest of the town was fine. Hard working people who took care of their home until the North Jersey trash moved there.

"a dark-skinned male" is that what we are calling them now? as opposed to a light-skinned male? I thought being called black or white was still p.c.I can't keep up with this p.c. bs.

The pendulum has swung too far in the wrong direction, ask any reasonable person and taxpayer. Enough with this p.c. garbage! Police are trained to look for criminals. It is NOT profiling- it is called police work, and that is what we pay them for. If your feelings are hurt, then you are most likely a criminal. It REALLY is that simple!!!

The problem with the Gilford Park area,is the fact that back in the lat 80's a lot of people sold their property. The new owners put the guaranteed government paycheck section eighters in there, and that's how the area went to sh@?. Now I'm afraid now that all the scum that was living across the bridge have lost their place to live, there will be more stories like this one.
