Obituary: Melonie 'Mel' Stemba, 60

Services will be held on Friday and Saturday in Freehold

 

The following obituary notice was submitted by the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home:

Melonie M. Stemba, 60, of Toms River passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at CentraState Medical Center in Freehold.  

Mel was born, raised, and had lived in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. before moving to the Atlantic Highlands. She settled with her husband in Toms River. Mel was a Line Manager for FedEx Ground, Princeton for the past twenty years. She was an antique car enthusiast belong to the NCPC and the Slant 6 Clubs. Mel was known to most as "Nana."

Melonie is survived by her husband, Bruce W. Reils; her mother, Rita Stemba of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; two sons, Peter Reils and his wife, Michelle of Toms River and John Reils of Freehold; a daughter, Christine Vazquez and her husband, Jorge of Howell; four grandchildren, Gabriele, Jeremy, Rachel, Phillip, and Jeffrey; two brothers, Joseph Stemba of Wilkes-Berra, PA and Robert Stemba of South Carolina; and three nephews.

Visiting at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold on Friday, Feb. 1, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her 9 a.m. Funeral Service at the funeral home on Saturday, Feb. 2.  Entombment will follow in Monmouth Memorial Park, Tinton Falls. For information, directions or condolence messages to the family, visit www.claytonfuneralhome.com.
