Patch Is Collecting Questions for Obama and Romney During the Next Presidential Debate

If you have a question for the candidates, submit it in the comments section below and it could be asked during the televised Oct. 16 Town Hall Presidential Debate.

If last Wednesday’s presidential debate left you with more questions than answers, here’s your chance for the presidential candidates to address the issues that most matter to you.

The next presidential debate will be a town hall meeting format at Hofstra University in Long Island, where voters will ask President Obama and Mitt Romney about domestic and foreign policy.

Patch is asking you, our readers, to participate by submitting questions for the candidates.

All you have to do is post your question in the comments section below and we’ll send it to the Commission on Presidential Debates. The Commission is partnering with Patch's parent company Aol, along with Google and Yahoo, to take questions from web users across the country.

What would you like to see?

Don’t wait until Nov. 6 to have a say in this year’s election. Share your thoughts in the comments!

I would like to ask, why won't either party give Americans a health care plan that INCLUDES all members of Congress and the President? If it's supposedly good enough for us, why not for all the politicians? Why should we accept a plan that they will not?

Mitt, how could you lie with a straight face in the debate, and change your positions so glibly, when you knew fact-checkers would prove you're wrong? Question #2: What flip-flops and whoppers will you reveal in the next debate? Question #3: Don't you realize today's voters are smarter than you think, and value substance over style from someone like you who aspires to be leader of the free world?

I would just like to ask, why not just have the government do what the Constitution instructed them to do? That is secure our borders and regulate commerce. Stay out of our health care I think as educated adults we are capable of making decisions for ourselves!

I like your idea much better, but I feel as tho that battle is lost, and if it is, they should have to live with what they do to us.

That's not a question, Martin, it's a speech, and it's a little short on facts too. But if that's the tact you want to take, why not a question to BO about stopping the Dept of Labor notice of layoffs under the WARN Act until AFTER the elec tion, in flagrant violation of law?

They're the questions that have been all over the news for days. The facts belie Mitt! Not many were fooled by Mr. Flip-Flop after all.

"Revenue Neutral": Romney/Ryan the phrase you use, what exactly does that mean, be very specific. Does it mean Slashing VA Benefits, medicare, Nursing Home payments, Student Aid, etc. in order to pay for your 5 Trillion dollar tax cut where millionaires will average a $250,000 tax reduction ???

Tonto lies!!! There is no $5 trillion tax cut proposal.

Let's assume there is no tax cut BUT THERE IS STILL A $1.5 TRILLION DEFICIT.

Tonto, what cuts should we start with? See you cannot just spend money you don't have. It's not right. It's criminal. It's unfair to the children to have debts.

There is however $800 Billion spent a year on Medicare that is paid for by borrowed money from CHINA. UNPAID MEDICARE.

Let's review the facts.

We have a $1.5 Trillion budget deficit.

Tonto supports what cuts so our children will have a future????

I agree that there should be no laws passed that exclude the people that make the law. After all are we not created equal.

Congress should not get pensions or healthcare!!! No one should get taxpayer funded pensions especially when we are borrowing money from China to pay for them.

While BO doesn't have much to reverse himself on, because he has never said anything concrete since he was elected. For example, did he flip-flop on closing Gitmo, or was it total BS from the start? Haven't heard anything about it since he took office, along with a lot of other campaign promises...

Superpacs on both sides have spent enormous sums to remove moderates and those who have worked accross the asle, replacing them with candidates from the extreme sides of each party, further widening the gap, and ensuring that the girdlock will continue, and prevent solutions from being reached.
My question to both candidates is how will each seek to end the gridlock in Washington and govern for the good of the whole country ?,

A thriving economy, meaning successful businesses, DOES help people, because they will be employed and productive and will rise up above the poverty line. Welfare programs don't do that, they keep people languishing at the poverty level, witness the LBJ program that has given us 50 years with no progress but more welfare than ever before, i.e., "The Great Society," and it's the minorities who have suffered the most.
