I don't live in HC, but Silver Ridge North...drove thru to Bimini and Route 37. All is fine but without power there as of about 5:30. No floods just a few trees down here and there. I am sure they are fine. Cell calls not going thru very good. Call the non- emergency police # 732-349-0105 if still concerned.

I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my Holiday City post. All of us, here in Savannah, were very relieved to hear that Great-grandma was not going to have to synchronize swim her way down St. Thomas Dr. Having endured 5 Florida hurricanes myself, I absolutely understand what no electricity is about. Its daunting to say the least but it is survivable, so just hang in there guys, the worst is over with.

For those of you who have folks in Holiday City they are most likely ok. I talked to my parents via cell phone; they live on Purnell Street in Holiday City. They are not under water, but they did hear that it would be 7-10 days until power comes on. I am encouraging them to come south and visit me.

I have tears in my eyes looking at this devasation. Beautiful Toms River, Seaside and the surrounding areas and most importantly the wonderful people I have known my whole life who now have to put back together their homes and worlds. As I have said before, it is now more than ever that I wish I was there to help. This is unspeakable.

I was finally able to get a status of the South Shore Dr neighborhood. Water has receeded, clean up has begun. Most vehicles in the neighborhood were underwater but a few neighbors have vehicles and are helping each other out. Most houses lost the first floor. One random cul-de-sac has power but none of the others do. Its advised that anything removed from a house be kept on property till an insurance adjuster can see it. All in all it sounds like property loss only but will be a few days before power will be restored. Hope that helps anyone needing info on that area.
