Police: Teen Had 170 Bags of Heroin
Authorities charge minor and Beachwood female with possession after month-long investigation
Two teens were arrested after a motor vehicle stop Tuesday at Adams and Vaughn avenues, in which police said they found 170 bags of suspected heroin.
Toms River Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said the police special enforcement team arrested the two individuals during a traffic stop, after a month-long investigation, just before noon March 29 at the intersection near a bank and an apartment complex.
A 17-year old East Dover male was arrested and charged with possession and distribution of heroin, ecstasy and prescription medicines and was detained in the Ocean County Juvenile Center in Toms River, Mastronardy said. The juvenile allegedly had 170 bags of suspected heroin, a scale, packaging material and $1107 in cash when arrested just before noon by Officers Steve Bucci and Travis Seaman.
Also arrested was Brittany Price, 18, of Beachwood, who was charged with possession of suspected heroin, and released on a summons.
Mastronardy said it was unclear whether the pair were currently enrolled in Toms River Regional Schools, and said the arrests were made as part of an ongoing month-long investigation.
The investigation originated with a call to the special enforcement team from a concerned parent, said the chief.
Anyone with information referencing suspicious narcotics activity is urged to call Sgt. Shaun O’Keefe at 732-349-0150 ext 1272.

Just another typical day in Ocean County. Good thing the new wing on the OC jail is complete. Soon they will have to build another 2.
