While male in early 20s allegedly robbed attendant at knife-point

Toms River Police are investigating a robbery that occured Saturday night at a Route 37 auto shop, authorities said.

At approximately 7 p.m., a white male in his early 20s brandishing a knife approached an employee of Holiday Service Center and demanded money, Police Chief Michael Mastronardy said in a release.

The alleged suspect, described as 5'9" and 155 lbs., took $100 from the 17-year-old male attendant and fled on foot north on Sumner Avenue, Mastronardy said.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing a brown pullover hooded sweatshirt that read "Billa Bong" in white letters on the front, blue jeans and black sneakers, Mastronardy said.

Officers Carl Basile and Brian Dugan, Lt. James Harris and Det. Mark Bajada are investigating the incident.

Anyone with information regarding the robbery can reach Toms River Police at (732) 349-0150.

Am I wrong? I thought you had to be 18 to pump gas in NJ.

I read that this happened in the convenience store attached to the gas station and not at the pumps.

Do you think you're safe along Toms River's main highway on a Saturday evening at 7 p.m.? Fuhgeddaboutit!
"Fled on foot..." Local guy in his early 20s doesn't even have a car, but has a knife, and now he'll have enough money to buy drugs for one night. He'll be back soon, again and again, until he's caught.

Someone will drop a tip on someone that has that sweatshirt that no doubt lives on one of those streets behind the station

Bud I had the same thought, well not that they'd for sure call it in tho I hope so but that someone will know that outfit added to the description and hopefully see this or hear about it. How much proof do we need that most criminals are dumb? You'd think they'd wear a non descript white t shirt. A solid color at least vs a logo or saying shirt. Lmao I hope they catch him and recover the money someone else worked hard for.i hate thieves.
