As we ease back into a normal life where we do not have earthquakes, tornadoes, or hurricanes (hopefully), here are a few events that could help you adjust back to everyday life for the big Labor Day weekend.
This Saturday, the Ocean County Parking Garage will be the host of this year’s Olde Time Antiques and Collectibles Faire. The event will be an old-fashioned Flea Market combined with old cars, steam engines, art, music, historical items, and more. It is scheduled, rain or shine, for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Ocean County Parking Garage is located at Hadley and Madison avenues, Toms River.
The Free Movies on the Beach series returns this weekend after a weekend absence because of Hurricane Irene. On Friday, The Rocky Horror Picture Show will begin at 8:15 p.m. and then on Sunday, Jaws will be played starting at dusk. All movie goers will be seated on the beach at the Hiering Avenue Ocean Front Stage in Seaside Heights.
Be sure to also cap your weekend off by celebrating Labor Day on Monday. For most, Labor Day is the last chance to enjoy barbeques, picnics, and fireworks. It’s a good way to transition into the fall season that includes color change of leaves and, of course, football.
No matter how you spend you Labor Day Weekend, be sure to enjoy the weekend and hope all the post-Hurricane Irene issues are resolved.
