First off, as it stands, churches should already be taxed but they don't have to abide by the rules because they separate themesleves by claiming special privilege. Other organizations and businesses have to pay taxes, but churches get exempt. All Obama has done is said that the different church-led organizations(clinics, schools, etc.) have to provide women's health products under their insurance plans.

UK law applies here. Obama Sr. was a British subject automatically making Obama Jr. a British subject as well regardless of where he lived, or his mother's nationality. Under UK law you must denounce your citizenship with UK authorities. Under US law you must renounce all allegiances to any other nations. Obama Sr. never did this.

They don't recommend dual citizenship but they know it goes on and they in fact say that a dual citizen has to recognize laws in BOTH the US and the other country. Dual citizenship would have to be declared at birth and would have to be registered at the embassy of the country you claiming citizenship of. @Rick, anytime I have been asked to check a box on a goverment document about my citizenship there is 2 boxes, natural born or naturalized or just a simple yes no question like at the DMV the other day, "are you a citizen of the US?' That money I use to pay and hire new employees, upgrade equipment, donate to people who need health care because they can't get insurance and give to various charities in my community. As to social security - it is now and always has been self funding in that current workers fund the benefits for current recipients. The "trust fund" concept was developed in the 80's under Reagan, specifically BECAUSE we acknowledged that the baby-boomers would create a funding requirement unable to be sustained by the active worker population at that time. The trust fund was DESIGNED to be created and get larger, then start getting "used" as the baby boomers start retiring - utlimately "going broke" (i.e., the "trust fund" would cease to exist and the system would return to self-funding) as the baby boomer generation dies off.

I just want to tell Melvin Udall that Social Security and Medicare are NOT ENTITLEMENTS! We PAID for them with money taken from our paychecks and from our employers pockets. There is NO ENTITLEMENT connected with Social Security and Medicare we paid for it with money we EARNED. What there IS, is 2.5 TRILLION dollars in that account in Treasury Bonds. What there IS, is a bunch of known crooks who have run up bills for two wars and a BILLIONS in GIFTS for their wall street gambler and bankster friends and now have to find the money to fund those bonds. Actually, I had a Spanish exchange student living with me in 2010 when we drove through Canada on a trip from Michigan to upstate NY. He brought his passport, but forgot his visa. The CANADIAN authorities at the MI/Canada border specifically told us they would let him into Canada, but we might not want to do that without his visa because the AMERICAN authorities wouldn't let him back in when we got to the Canada/NY border. Obama is beyond vulnerable. He is a one term president ala Jimmy Carter. Look at some of the polls with the key words of "approve of direction country heading in" and that tells the tale quite simply. Most polls are anywhere from 60-72% disapproval.

Obama has no fundamental understanding of economics. To listen to him when forced to ad lib on an economic issue in a public forum is comical. Excuse me? I believe the unemployment rate is currently UNDER 8.5%. The stimulus didn't do more because Obama was prevented from getting more, by the GOP. It is accepted by economists on both sides of the aisle that a temporary increase in government spending is a tried-and-true way of climbing out of a recession.

The timing of Obama's health care initiative was admittedly a mistake. But not the policy. I have only the rest of the industrialized world to go on. (Higher taxes on energy? Really? I was unaware of that).

The business skills you list are just that - BUSINESS skills. The President needs to be skilled in economic strategy, not board room tactics. Acquiring support for business-building resources? How pray tell is that possible in an environment where the GOP uniformly WITHHOLDS support for any proposal that issues from Obama's mouth, EVEN WHEN IT WAS THEIR IDEA TO BEGIN WITH???

And just HOW DO YOU KNOW Romney's skill set? I've never heard the man speak in any kind of detail about just what he did at Bain Capital - I've never even heard him use terms anywhere near as technical as the ones in your post!

Cr....the fundamental point you miss is that government is not a corporate entity. Sometimes you have to subsidize functions that seem not to have any credibility so that they can function during times of duress or other need. Corporate management has a tendency to bottom line every governmental function and when crisis does occur .....schazamm......Katrina and New Orleans. You can take Romneys and other corporate types and put them into government ....you can have a period of minimal cost and shrinking taxes....but watch out when you really need the government to act as a temporary backbone. Roosevelt was right and Hoover was wrong. I went to college too....business degree Villanova and have run my own business for 30 years.

Bush's experience was in fact a lot like Romney's - he specialized in bankrupting companies. The difference is that Romney usually did it on purpose...

Bush was a proxy businessman, Romney by all accounts was/is a workaholic.
Obama simply worries about the next vacation locale and could care less about the cost of that excursion to the taxpayer.
