Provident Bank Collecting Toys for Children in Need
Holiday toy drive will run through Dec. 17 at Fischer Boulevard bank location
Toms River's branch of The Provident Bank hopes to help brighten the holidays for children in need by collecting through Dec. 17.
New, unwrapped toys for children of all ages will be accepted for Toys for Tots at the bank's 961 Fischer Boulevard location. Donations, which are especially needed in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, can be dropped off in the building lobby during regular business hours, according to the bank.
"The recent hurricane has devastated and displaced many families in the Toms River area, so there are even more children in need this holiday season," said Vice President of Public Relations Jean Quinn in a statement. "Provident is committed to giving back to the communities it serves, and we look forward to brightening the holidays for local children with these new toys."
For more information, the Toms River branch can be reached at 732-270-3429.

New unwrapped toys? Didn't we just go through a devastating hurricane? Are we not in the middle of a major recession? People should be grateful for ANY help or gifts they are given. How did our grandparents ever make it through the Great Depression without new, unwrapped toys?

I think it would be a welcome change for these children affected by Sandy that have been given donations and used items to actually get something new for a change, they have lost so much. I know my daughters girlfriend from school was embarrassed because of the attention and being asked if she is in need of anything . It is hard on the children especially going thru peer pressure. Don;t take Christmas from the children.............
