27 charges and pleading guilty to 2, unbelievable. He "could" face 11 -14 years. It is my bet he will get a slap on the hand. I hope I am wrong and he sits in prison for the next 14 years. He is such an embarassment to our town.

Barbara, I hope you are wrong too. I hope the judge throws the book at him. He needs to make an example out of him!

He stole from the children of our district and the community who trusted him. (And even those of us who didn't.) So many programs have been cut because of 'lack of funds.' There are no more 6th grade sports programs, elementary extra curriculars (like track, Peacemakers, Leo Club, art club), and more. The kids have suffered while Ritacco lived the high life. Whatever he gets, it won't be enough.

The trial has been postponed because he has been singing like a canary and the feds wanted to milk him for everything they could.
Hope eveyone is ready for a new round of indictments!

I'm in on the postponement...he will have someone else to throw under the bus to keep him out until next time, or the time after that...what a joke! Hope we are wrong and the judge got the public's letters like he asked for.

I Hope Christie ends up under Ritacco's bus.... right where he belongs. It would be worth seeing Ritacco's sentence reduced if Christie could be exposed for the corrupt thug he is....

the irony is all these people who were or are going to be indicted - worked to get christie elected - christie gets elected - vacates his post as u.s. attorney for n.j. - { where he shielded investigations into ocean county republicans and party bosses - president obama gets to now appoint the u. s. attorney for n.j. - christie's cronies / ritacco et al - ocean county republicans fundraisers now get exposed by the new u.s. attorney - fishman - and are squealing like pigs and running like cockroaches under a flashlight. none of this happens if christie doesn't get elected. there is much more action to come - the perp walk by ocean county reps this week will look like a country western line dance - stay tuned !!!!!!!!!

Friday will definitely be a sad day for Mr. Rittacco but justice has to be served. He admitted fault (whatever his reasons) and will face his punishment. However, it's a sad day and definitely a black mark on the TR schools. It
appears greed got the best of him. So sad!

If he gets six months he can do that with his eyes closed. Anything more, he will be gaining weight on the 23 delightful deserts I understand they serve daily. I doubt if he will do more than six months.

Sandra - I'm inclined to agree that he won't get much time BUT since it's federal it my be more than 6 months. Wow! 23 desserts - that explains why prisoners gain those extra pounds :)

I think they are going to hit him hard. I say, since we are guessing, 7 - 10 yrs... But we shall see Friday!

Too bad the people he defrauded mainly us, don't have a say in the sentencing. That may be a good thing cause if it was left up to us, his punishment would involve a tree, a rope and horse!

If Ritacco gets close to the max. sentence, he wasn't able to flip anyone bigger than the man himself. If Ritacco gets a light sentence, he flipped anyone he could. Friday, is a very important day for a lot of people; however, I wouldn't be surprised if Ritacco's sentence is delayed one more time.

Well believe it or not like in "Ripleys". There are still a few retards here in town that think, even after he admitted his guilt to the Fed's. That he is a good innocent guy. Yea, ok and there still is that bridge for sale. He is a no good, low life criminal felon piece of trash. Oh sorry, and is getting what he deserves, jail time with the other criminals.

What about the rest of the school board/township officials who were at worst involved in the corruption over the years, or at best wilfully ignorant to the rumors and accusations that have been leveled for years?
That he is going to jail is fantastic, but there is something very wrong with the rest of the school board getting off scott free.

How much do you want to bet that the same people who are sitting on the school board when Mighty Mike was at the helm will be reelected again this November? There are so many people who vote in this district who can see nothing wrong with what either the BOE members or Ritacco did to the school district, the teachers,the students, parents and the taxpayers of this district. The only way that these people are going to learn that the people of this district are FED up with all of the "BACK ROOM DEALS" that go on in this district is to get rid of the incumbents! Remember Michael J. Ritacco was the one who told the people of Seaside Park (and all of these members who are up for reelection agreed with him) that they could come to the district with their children FREE OF CHARGE and the taxpayers of the TOMS RIVER REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT WOULD FOOT THE BILL FOR THEM!!!!! But, it wasn't until a few of the residents spoke up and brought this information out of the BACKROOM and into the PUBLIC LIGHT that Ritacco was forced to admit that there was actually a deal in the works. It wasn't until Ritacco was arrested and these same residents forced Mr. Roselli to rescind that offer to the residents of Seaside Park.( i.e. other than the original 5 that Ritacco had the arrangement with) IF it were not for those people just think of the number of kids that would be coming that we would not even know about. Remember to VOTE these incumbents out in NOVEMBER!!!!!

The whole school board needs to be restructured. They all were behind Ritacco

Let them start checking as far back as 1990 and his involvement with equipment purchase and rentals with a local contractor and a relative.

hope they investigate his kids and their fancy homes cars etc
