Search Continues for Man Wanted in Toms River Stabbing
Police said Steven Rosado should be considered dangerous

A man charged with murder remains on the loose, after a victim succumbed to stab wounds inflicted early Saturday.
Steven Rosado, 20, of Lakewood, was charged Sunday in the death of Kevin Copes, 25, of Lakewood. The Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said Sunday Rosado allegedly stabbed Copes in a 1:30 a.m. Saturday incident, in the parking lot of a Toms River apartment complex.
Police were called to Community Medical Center Saturday for a report of stab wounds after friends brought Copes to the hospital.
The next day prosecutors named Rosado as the suspect, charging him with murder and setting his bail at $750,000 no 10 percent option.
Rosado is considered dangerous, police said.
"Mr. Rosado is currently at large. The public's assistance is being sought in locating him," said Executive Assistant Prosecutor Michel A. Paulhus. A photo of Rosado has been released.
Further details on the stabbing, as well as a shooting that happened in Toms River approximately an hour earlier, were not released.
"This investigation is ongoing, that's all I can say," Paulhus said.
The search is being conducted by the Toms River Police and Ocean County Prosecutor's and Sheriffs offices, Paulhus said.

Just wondered if it was villages @ bey lea because I live at villages at bey lea and I know a few weeks back there was robbery there of drugs and the kids that lived there were beaten up I never was able to find out what building that happened at, anyone know if it was building 20?

i just heard they caught the guy in flordia who did it. if its true thank god for kevins family. this was such a senseless murder, not that most murders make sense. but kevin was a good guy and this shouldnt of happened to a guy like him, who worked hard,finished school and was just getting started with his life. rest in peace kev

JUST IN: Steven Rosado, the man accused of fatally stabbing another man in Toms River, was apprehended and arrested in Florida this afternoon, police confirm to TLS. Rosado, 20, was wanted for the murder of Kevin Copes, 24, of Lakewood.
His bail has been set at $750, 000 with no 10% option, by the Honorable James N. Blaney, J.S.C. TLS.

So this 20 yr old just threw his life away and another young man is dead. Wise up and smell the roses. Is a lifetime behind bars or in a grave worth the gamble of showing how tough you are to your friends? Eventually one or the other will get them.
