Thomas J. Grouss Sr., 60, Longtime Electrician

A man who died in a fatal collision with a school bus Thursday afternoon served for 40 years as an electrician and was recently retired.

Thomas J. Grouss Sr., 60, of Toms River, passed away on April 5 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born and raised in Elizabeth, he moved to Toms River in 1999. Tom proudly served as an electrician for 40 years with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 675 of Elizabeth and Local 102 in Parsippany. He was a devoted and caring husband, father and grandfather. Recently retired, Tom enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and cherished grandchildren. Tom's warmth and quick wit touched many, many lives and he will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was predeceased by his parents Phillip and Marie Grouss and his sister Patricia Raymond. Surviving are his beloved wife of 36 years Linda Grouss; his daughter Nickole McGuinness of Toms River; his son Thomas J. Grouss Jr. and his wife Jessica of Toms River; brother Phillip Grouss and his wife Cynthia of Texas; and his adored grandchildren Kara, Ryan and Connor.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St. Toms River. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, 685 Hooper Ave. Toms River. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to March of Dimes, March for Babies at www.marchforbabies.org. Condolences may be made by visiting www.andersonandcampbell.com.

Very sad, recently retired, wow...you just never know. I heard he had a heart attack? anyone know if that was the case? RIP
