I am very happy to hear no 10%... make it as hard as possible for them to get out of Jail... let them spend some time in there thinking what they did wrong. Parents need to step up to the plate and start parenting what they brought into this world !!!

Flex owner, I am so glad you have written in to defend yourself. I also have on time payments and absolutely loved my minivan that I just got in April. Shame on these people who are so willing to throw judgement around on people they don't even know. I am a stand up citizen who has been born and raised in TR. NEVER have had a problem in this town and now find myself afraid to go to sleep at night. AMAZING job to TRPD for their help. I hope they continue to get the TRASH out of this wonderful town.

Steve D- you have no class. I sure do hope nothing terrible happens to you. The media states keys were in the car- not true in my case. However the point remains - some degenerate low life with nothing better to do came into MY yard, took something that belongs to ME and destroyed it. The THIEVES didn't get anything out of this senseless act except a joyride and a high. I, on the other hand, am left fighting w insurance and trying to convince my kids that we ARE safe. The last thing I need on my plate is a need for defending myself against someone who wants us to feel worse about an ALREADY BAD situation. THANKS FOR NOTHING!

Honestly, if someone stole my car because I left it unlocked, I think I'd be more mad at myself than the person that committed the crime. Like seriously, how dumb/cocky do u have to be to not lock your car at night? It doesn't matter that people aren't suppose to steal so u "shouldn't have to", the truth is we all know people still do it so u need to guard your fucking shit. I mean really, I live in seaside. Do u think I ever go, "hmm, people aren't supposed to steal or be on my property so my car should be fine unlocked" --- NO, cause that's a car theft waiting to happen. So in reality, everyone involved in this (and yes that means u car owners) made a bad decision. The decision by the boys was just worse as it will most likely ruin their lives. But no one on here should be happy or grateful that those boys are in jail. It's never a good day for society when young adults have fallen on such a bad path that they wind up in jail. It's a tragedy.

Let me get this straight 'thehardtruth'....you are actually saying its the car owners fault that these young adults are in jail? We left our cars unlocked and so that sent a message to these teens to go ahead and break into our cars and steal and start fires in them? REALLY?
Someone steals from you regardless what the circumstances are and your saying its a tragedy they got caught and put in jail? Lets just give him a slap on the wrist and say No No, you can't do that ! Ruin their lives ? Maybe they should have thought about that BEfore they did the crime!
Let me tell you I was robbed thru NO FAULT of my own.... and the person who did it is VERY lucky they weren't found bc JAIL would not have been good enough!

I didn't say it is the car owners' faults that these young adults are in jail. I'm saying they made themselves vulnerable to car theft by leaving their car unlocks. And I do believe jail is the appropriate consequence for what these young people did. I just don't think its appropriate for people to be celebrating the fact that there are essentially "kids" in jail. (and yes, I do consider 18-21 still almost kids because they still haven't matured fully at that age. and if you don't agree with that, I think its still notable that they are fairly young). No child is born a thief, murderer, or any other type of "bad person". Something in his/her environment, whether it be a parent, friend(s), school, etc, caused and allowed him/her to become that way. And that is the tragedy---the fact that these boys, and any young person in jail, is in there because at some point (or maybe at even several points in their life) someone just did not care.
