Parts of Pleasant Plains got hit hard with this storm. Thankfully the power is on but there are several trees down.

What do you expect them to do when severe weather damages their power lines? Wave a magic wand?

@ Bob - it's called I, Me, Me, Mine - and to blazes with everyone else . It's a sad commentary on how our society has become so selfish. So you're without power for a few hours, there were people in Atlantic County that were without power for a week during the heat wave. OK so people were inconvenienced as was I but I'm not complaining. @ the whiners: go invest in a generator if you can't live without electricity for a few hours. Dear Lord what are you going do WHEN a real disaster strikes?

Lost power @ 7:45 PM Sat. & came back on @ 5:45 A Sun. Yellow back and Crystal. East Winds Delv. Underground wiring sucks ! , But it's usually at the same pole 0r one further down that the capacitors trip and they have to re-set them.It was humid and didn't get any sleep...Good night or good day whatever , I'm going to try now that we have AIR !

I am in the same area. It was worse than last year with Hurricane Irene. At least last year it was a bit cooler after the storms.

I had electricity but the solar panels were ripped off my house as well as a tree in my front yard that was knocked down onto my fence. This was definitely worse than hurricane Irene.

I'm also between Bay ave and bellcrest plaza/ cattus island and it was around 730 power went out and it came on just after 5 am. Very hard to breathe for those of us with medical issues but we managed and were planning to go to a hotel today if not restored. I think if they could've given an estimate on how long we'd have dealt better. Having said that I just hope the elderly are all ok. It's human to be bummed about TV, stressed if your cell dies or upset you can hardly breathe in the heat. As long as we realize it can always be worse and is for some ppl! I hope the other areas are restored soon and everyone's ok. I know we lost some food, hope no one here had just done a big shopping. Tg we needed to get alot already!

If you left your freezer and refrigerator doors closed, and they were packed well, you should be okay with your food. Mine was still frozen solid this morning.
