Toms River FEMA Office Opens Monday

Office will be open at 8 a.m. at 943 Fischer Blvd. in the Bellcrest Plaza

A new Toms River FEMA site will be open Monday, beginning at 8 a.m. and located at 943 Fischer Blvd. in the Bellcrest Plaza.

To contact FEMA, use their website at www.FEMA.gov or call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362)

FEMA and Toms River Engineers will be out to help inspect sites, and assessments will be made quickly so that businesses can open and homeowners can return to their houses, officials say.

Work gloves, work boots and hand sanitizer is needed.  The Church of Grace & Peace is at capacity for clothing.  Donations of brand new, packaged socks and underwear are needed. Canned food and other non-perishables, bottled water, drinks, batteries and toiletries/personal care items (soap, shampoo, razors, cleansing towels, etc) will be accepted.

Elderly neighbor needs help: He lost house contents & car. Registered with FEMA but confused by electrical, gas, mold and other problems. Can TR and/or OC Senior/Aging Services or any other agency counsel him -- ASAP? I think he's getting heart palpitations trying to cope with this big mess. Who do you call?
