Toms River Pair Indicted in Assault

Indictments handed up by the Ocean County grand jury

Two Toms River men have been indicted by an Ocean County grand jury in connection with a June 2011 assault in Toms River.

Lenaire D. Henderson and Jamil N. Parson, both of Toms River, each were indicted on a sole count of second-degree aggravated assault for allegedly causing severe bodily injury to Marcus Lewis on June 14, 2011.

Both men were released on a summons.

Also indicted by the grand jury:

  • Stephen R. Nielsen of Brick, on a count of fourth-degree aggravated assault and third-degree resisting arrest after a scuffle with Seaside Heights Patrolman John Roth on Feb. 26 in Seaside Heights. Nielsen was released on $2,500 bail, no 10 percent option, on Feb. 26.
  • Paul R. Clifton Jr., on counts of theft, dealing in stolen property and criminal mischief, in Toms River and Waretown. Clifton is alleged to have taken 300 feet of copper wire from Kelly Kilowatt Electrical Contractors in Toms River on June 7, and then selling it in Waretown. He also is alleged to have caused more than $2,000 in damage to Toms River Police Department equipment on June 8. He was released on a summons.
  • Elwood J. Kilroe III of Rutherford, on a count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine, in Seaside Heights on Dec. 23. He was released on a summons.
  • Taeshia C. Pomponio of Toms River, on a count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, oxycodone, in Toms River on Oct. 20. Pomponio was released on $5,000 bail, no 10 percent, on Oct. 22.
  • Peeterson C. Mentor of Jackson and Christopher Etienne of Matawan, on nine total drug counts in Seaside Heights on Nov. 27. Mentor was indicted for allegedly having and attempting to distribute cocaine and heroin on or within 500 feet of the Seaside Heights boardwalk. Etienne was indicted for allegedly having and attempting to distribute heroin and 3,4 methylenedioxypyrovalerone (meth) on or within 500 feet of the Seaside Heights boardwalk. Mentor was released on $7,500 bail, no 10 percent, on Nov. 28. Eitenne was released on $10,000 bail, no 10 percent, on Nov. 28.
  • Jason Kent of Toms River and Douglas F. Pravlik of Seaside Heights, in relation to an incident on Nov. 4 in Seaside Park. Kent was indicted on counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance for allegedly having cocaine and heroin. Pravlik was indicted on counts of resisting arrest and obstructing the administration of law, for allegedly trying to interfere with Seaside Park Det. Matthew Brady as he tried to execute a search warrant related to Kent. Both men were released on summonses.
  • Stephanie R. Small of Lake Hopatcong, on a count of operating a motor vehicle while her license was suspended for driving under the influence, on Dec. 1 in Island Heights. She was released on a summons.
  • Dorothy A. Alston of Toms River, on one count of eluding, after she allegedly fled State Trooper Kiimik after being signaled to stop, on Jan. 14 in Toms River. She was released on her own recognizance on March 16.
  • Ludwig Bruschi Jr. and John Sousa of Jackson, on counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, cocaine, possession with intent to distribute and distribution of cocaine, on Jan. 17 in Toms River.
