Burglary of Salon in Pleasant Plains
Officer Steven Austin is investigating a burglary at the Expressions Hair and Nail Salon on Route 9 in Pleasant Plains section of the Township. Unknown persons removed about $60 after gaining entry into the business by breaking a front window sometime Monday night.
Overturned Vehicle on Washington Street
At 5:30 p.m. Officer Frank Lauria investigated an accident that occurred at Washington Street and Lexington Avenue. Devon Nahrold, 17, was westbound on Washington Street in a Toyota pickup truck, when a Honda Pilot operated by 19 year-old Jennifer Durando of Point Pleasant made a left turn onto eastbound Washington Street from Lexington Avenue after stopping at the stop sign. The Honda overturned after the crash where there were no injuries but traffic eastbound was detoured for about a half hour.

I don't agree with the headline "Salon Robbed", as this was obviously a burglary to an unoccupied business sometime during the night. A robbery is a theft by using force, a weapon and/or violence against another person. Don't embellish a headlines to catch attention; it's unethical.

Overturned Honda in photo looks like it would have been perfect for the NJ public-service video filmed in TR this week. No staging necessary -- it happens a lot around here. (No ticket issued?)
