Nearly 100 unlocked cars were entered in September in Toms River by thieves, chief Michael Mastronardy says
A report by a resident of a while male running from one car to another on ijn the Shelter Cove area triggered yet another plea from Toms River police to once again lock car doors.
Nearly 100 unlocked vehicles were entered during the nighttime hours in September, police chief Michael Mastronardy said.
A resident called police on Friday night after he looked out his window and saw a while male leave the vehicle and run to an a neighbor's vehicle checking for unlocked doors. When the doors were locked, he ran back to his vehicle, described as a blue 1990 Ford Ranger with larger than normal tires.
