Toms River Schools Closed Monday; Pine Belt Arena To Be Shelter

Shelter will open Sunday at 4 p.m.

Toms River Regional Schools will be closed Monday, at the request of the Office of Emergency Management, officials said.

The Pine Belt Arena has been designated a regional emergency shelter and will open Sunday at 4 p.m. "We will make a decision on the status of schools for Tuesday at a later time. Please stay safe," the school's website said.

Why is there a picture of High School East? Maybe a picture of high school North and the Pine Belt Arena would help some people more easily identify the shelter.

All vehicles banned from roads 11 p.m. Sunday in Brick. What about Toms River, mayor? Tell us something on Patch and on your "local access" TV channel that merely forecasts 39 mph winds Monday (hahahaha). You're AWOL when residents need info, so we'll be AWOL when you want our votes.

I believe you can go to the Pine Belt Arena shelter, but your pets must be in crate or cage. I think this info was in a previous linked Patch article...could be wrong.
