The ceremonial ribbon cutting and first pitch of the Girls Softball Complex on North Bay Avenue on Saturday afternoon found the Toms River Council and mayor tossing softballs to members of the Toms River Girls Softball League.

The day was also opening day for the Toms River Girls Softball League. The day's events also included the dedication of a gazebo, which honors the history of the site — once a collection of chicken and egg farms founded by Jews escaping persecution.

Here's a gallery from the day.
