Get off the islands these storms are getting worse every time the wind will push the water inland again . Nothing will be the same on those islands get off them . Think about it your in a island get off houses shouldn't be on them anyway really Mother Nature want it she will get it

Climate is changing these storms are getting worse every year in like 20 years from now there will be no more barrier islands , really look at the past storms , the winds are getting worse the storms are bigger , this is all warnings to people , it's a island get to visit enjoy the water and beaches but don't build stuff I between water use your heads get off the islands . It might be time to rethink anyone living on those islands. Seems to be a constant worry for all.

If you live in a area that would even get the smallest amount of flooding leave as soon as possible. The areas around might be flooded which will not allow you to evacuate. this is a noreaster and will cause damage with possible power outages.

This is weary to those who have knocked out walls and trying to get their money to fix up their homes from "Sandy". Unfortunately, if "Sandy" was not enough to make the decision solid to leave...this sample of Nature's wrath may. New York news channels are reporting the ocean breached by Joey Harrisons and there is flooding on 35 north,any truth to this ?

Winter storms, winds and tidal flooding was always an issue in low lying areas and streets....in NJ and other states/areas. Sandy did not change this. Everyone needs to remain calm.

I wrote to you all earlier , it's Mother Nature and there islands you can't have houses there and think its ok , this isn't even hitting jersey full force it's more towards New York and look what's happening to the barrier islands with a simple snow storm . No sand dunes are gonna stop a ocean . I feel so bad for people that lost it all , my sister was one of them , but I will be dammed if I will watch her lose it all again after they rebuild . This is sad to say but the only good thing about sandy is it cleaned out all the trash people in seaside , it was nice to drive through there and not see all trash people ruin a town that's been so beautiful at one time . Some trash started moving back and god said no way here's another storm get them out .

I was worried about writing what I really felt thinking people would take it the wrong way , but it really is sad to see seaside get the way it did , I moved here when I was ten years old I'm now 50 , I seen it change so much up there . I do fugitive recovery work and I'm always up there arresting people it's sick and very sad , I watched a beautiful place go down the tubes . Police are losing control , too much trashy people running drugs and just living off the system . I have nothing against people who really need it . But when your 20 to 30 years old and don't work and collect welfare and sell drugs and get hotel assistance and then rent your room to someone else I got a problem with that . It's happening up there trust me . It's just sad . God bless us all

No news in TR Patch Saturday morning, so... from Brick "Patch"

On the barrier island, there were no reported breaches of the Atlantic Ocean in Brick or Mantoloking. There was one small breach confirmed in Toms River's Ortley Beach section, though it was being considered minor, causing a detour that spanned a few blocks on Route 35's northbound lanes.

The Mantoloking Fire Department said Friday night that the waves were "lapping at the dunes," though nothing had broken through.* A breach in Mantoloking during Sandy is thought to have caused flooding in both the barrier island and mainland neighborhoods in Brick... (and TR).

There is still the threat of flooding as the nor'easter moves north. High tide at the Mantoloking Bridge will occur at 11:11 a.m. and 11:38 p.m. Saturday. On the oceanfront, high tide will occur at 6:13 a.m. and 6:40 p.m. Saturday.

* It's time to build up the dunes before we're all flooded again. Use eminent domain -- nobody's precious "view" is more important than my safety and my home!

Dunes and beach replnishment for the entire Shore will cost less than raising 25,000 homes and/or paying $30,000 a year for insurance premiums.

You want to flood thousands of houses because a dune would block your precious view? You pay for all the damages!

This is wrong that the selfish private beach owners of Ortley don't care about their neighbors or the people on the other side of the bay. IMO, Shelter Cove, Snug Harbor and Silverton wouldn't have had the amount of damage if it wasn't for your selfishness. So (1) sign the easements OR (2)Live in the Lakewood Homeless encampment OR (3) Invest in pontoons for under your home.

If your taking about the badge money from the private homeowner associations, TR is still waiting for it. Wanna know where the $ went, ask your association president. Obviousty it didn't go towards dunes.

Take a ride along the whole coast from seaside heights all the way to asbury at every other street is a state trooper car sitting there makeinv like 55 bucks an hour omg where do you think that money is coming from ? Let the local police in there own towns make that over time . State is so corrupt once the towns are open again and all the shit bags come back you won't see any state police up there oh no way , but that will be left to the local class twos and class ones who make 10 bucks an hour . Makes me sick . Seaside has like 30 state police up there watching the beach making sure no one takes pictures omg not nessesary . Leg the class ones earn some money

Thats not true, I was there walking around and took like 100 pictures of the beach, rides, right in front of the cops. No problem at all. No one can keep you from taking photos.

Toms River is going to have a long wait for badge money from private associations. Since our beaches are self sufficient and don't get a penny from TR ( and certainly don't expect to) why would anyone think that any revenue should go to them? That's how we maintain our property and build better dunes than TR.
