The Lagoon starts to "stir" & White caps develop
Wind Kicking up - more white caps forming and squall line moving in
Full blown Squall and power outage (thankfully brief) - can barely see the pool next door much less the homes across the way
Now tell me that there's no reason the frequently check the weather forecast, and keep ever alert to the changing skies - I wouldn't have wanted to be on my boat or a jetski in this mess.....
Starting to wane but still nasty
It was starting to break 30 minutes after the onset, this was taken 10 minutes later - although not on camera we had a rainbow & lightning to the east at the same time the sun was breaking through. Hope you stayed safely indoors and heed the weather forecasts. And I hope you enjoyed........
Sandy has come and gone more than two months ago, but the aftereffects are far from over. Support the locals, help with the rebuilding. Pictures taken in Seaside Heights on 12/22/2012 and 1/6/2013 in Seaside Heights. Music by David Underwood, photography by Marco Catini.

can you tell me if the police department is letting residents of Ortley Beach over to see their property on Monday. Is this a rumor or truth.

another resident from Ortley Beach told me the same about Monday. Try calling the non emergency police # for toms river 732-349-0150. I have been locating people for loved ones and all the police depts seem to know what is happening. Maybe they can confirm when you can go over. I know that they will not allow you to stay with out the gas on. Also, when you get back, turn off your water and winterize so that the pipes dont freeze.

Hi, Barbara,
We bought your house in 1996. The damage from the storm was mostly in the garage and first floor. We are having everything repaired at the moment, so it will be as good as new in a couple of months. I can send you some pictures is you send me your email or on Facebook.

The Mayor and council can pick whoever they want to supply power to public Bldgs. they have control over, they don't have control over MY home or yours....you pick whoever YOU want, but JCP&L Still has to maintain those lines..for now ..until they are thrown out or are replaced.....by the BPU and the people of NJ....

The pics I just posted are my home on 2nd Ave in Ortley Beach. One of the most beautiful streets in Ortley Beach, it was a 3 unit condo, beautiful, warm environment before Sandy knocked us off our foundation. Now we are told our contents will not be covered even though we had condo contents coverage. The cost to demolish & rebuild is way above our wallets. We are people that don't have the big bucks, that pay taxes to 2 communities and now we are left with no answers. Sandy Refief all over the state, a wonderful action by so many generous people but they only help you if it was your main home. What about he " 2nd home owners" ? Why are being being left out? Foreclosure can hit us just like everyone else......Please help us...
Someone tell us what we can do?

If you had flood insurance, both structure and contents you would be covered. If not why should the taxpayer pay for your neglect especially on a second house.
