We Need To Come Together - The Governor Must Hear Our Voices

Judging from the lack of information offered at the meeting on Monday at the Toms River Holiday Inn, we must organize a group to represent us.  Individuals get nowhere in situations like this.  There is talk about open space plans, "connected" developers, eminent domain, and losing our properties...all very real possibilities if we don't have proper representation.

I was personally on the island on Monday for the Seaside Park "grab your stuff and run" tour.  Except for some sand in the streets, and lots of garbage at the curb from interior water damage, it looked like a typical fall day in Seaside Park.  I saw plenty of people mulling about and riding bikes...it was obvious that they hadn't come over for the two day "grab your stuff and run" tour.  The roads north of Seaside Heights are bad, but we are being told it's far worse than it is.  Ariel footage ( http://storms.ngs.noaa.gov/storms/sandy/ ) and Youtube footage are good resources to check individual neighborhoods and individual residences.  There are many passable streets where we can navigate and check our properties.  Footage on Youtube as recent as November 5th shows people walking and driving around these areas.

Back to the representation...other seaside communities in our country allow residents to return and rebuild...for many of us the shore is a way of life.  We need it to reach the governor's ears that we want to rebuild the island, and not lose our homes and communities.  We need someone to get this going, with legal advice and counsel backing them...and we need to do it now.  We need the truth about what's going on over there.  I was there, and saw vast differences from what the media is showing and telling us.

Let us in to retrieve our belongings, secure our homes, and make a plan to rebuild!

Well said Ray.

Need the existing Homeowners Associations in the Dover Twp Beaches to get a vote poll / donation mechanism onto their web pages to get the funds together to hire a law firm quickly. Without representation the property owners will be left with nothing.

What you do is have someone file a lawsuit... for a group... for individuals.. whatever...
and simultaneously ask for injunctive relief... will be heard in 1 day...
attach photos that roads such as 35 are fine... etc
you can be in by saturday if filed tomorrow..
Try to get before Judge Peterson... I believe he lives in Seaside Park!!!

I live on Tunney Ave...satellite imagery and reports from friends on the island show that my street, surrounding streets, and Rt 35 leading up to the area is fine! View the satellite link I put in the article...it will allow you to view individual houses, streets, and roadways...

Hey Ray, I'm on Tunney Ave on the Bay as well. A neighbor got there by boat last week and took some pics. We all have water damage and my truck is more than likely a total loss. Seeing how close we are to the A&P, I know the roads are passable to let people in a few blocks at a time. I know people have lost everything and my heart goes out to them, but if we're unable to get to our homes, we'll soon be among them.

I can survive with propane heat, a generator, and a port-a-potty...stop the nonsense, and let us in where it's safe!

These are great comments and posts, fellow islanders. I live in Ortley Beach. Please find "Kane In Your Corner" on Facebook, and put your comments and frustrations there also. We need as much exposure as possible. Thank you!

I am also a resident of ssp. I went to my house on Monday to get my things in a hurry and winterize as quick as I could. The streets looked great and my house is also great. No flood damage, I could move back today. The fact that they are keeping us from our homes and we are homeowner's paying property taxes is BS. Just because the state wants the money from the federal government to replace the gas line doesn't mean I should have to leave my house for 8 months and am left on my own to find housing for my family. This is wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!
