UPDATE: Township Says Power Outage Will Only Affect Apartment Complex

Toms River officials said Monday night that a planned power outage in town scheduled for Tuesday would only be affecting an apartment complex.

Earlier, the township's Office of Emergency Management said the township as a whole would be affected and electric customers would be out of power for two hours during the day, with a certain swath of customers experiencing a seven hour-long outage.

"More recent information from JCP&L indicates that the Jamestown Apartment section of town will be the only area affected by tomorrow's planned power outage for improvements," Toms River OEM said in an updated message just after 7 p.m.
