Profitable Entertainment

While the summer might be the realm of blockbuster movie, beach trips, and long evenings spent outdoors, the same cannot be said of the fall. Playoff baseball, football, and college basketball are all in full swing during the fall and winter, and when combined with the cooler (and sometimes very cold) weather, this encourages many people to stay inside. Between the increase in live sporting events and the cooler weather encouraging people to stay inside and watch said TV programming, this time of year can become quiet lucrative for you and your investments.

America’s Got Talent, American Idol, The Blacklist, NCIS, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., How I Met Your Mother (final season), The Voice, and Criminal Minds are all carried on the major media networks. In addition to these shows, there is, of course, the plethora of live sporting activities that are looming on the horizon. Baseball playoffs, NBA games, NFL games, the World Series, and the Super Bowl are all broadcast on these same major media networks.

If only you could both watch these shows/events, and benefit from the monetary benefits that these shows generate for their parents networks.

Fortunately, you can!

Virtually all of the major media networks are publicly traded corporations. ABC,CBS, and Fox Media Group are all publicly traded on major stock exchanges. ESPN is a subsidiary of Disney corporation, and by owning Disney you would gain even more exposure to the media environment. While owning media stocks carries the same risks and pitfalls that any other investing strategies, this strategy will enable you to both enjoy the shows and events that you like, and have an opportunity to also earn a return on your investment.
