The Toms River branch of the Ocean County Library will be hosting Take Control of Your Health: a six-week workshop that was created by Stanford University to help you manage any chronic health condition. You will learn techniques such as problem solving, decision making, goal setting, better breathing, fall prevention, as well as how to deal with emotions, pain and fatigue. It provides the motivation to choose healthier lifestyle habits such as exercise, healthy eating and positive thinking. The workshop gives the support needed to achieve your desired goals and feel less alone. Participants will also receive the book "Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions." Dates of the workshop are 9/11, 9/18, 9/25, 10/2, 10/9 and 10/16. You must register to attend by calling 732-349-6200.
