Prom Dress Giveaway at Toms River Library

The high school prom is often one of the most memorable moments in a teen’s life. However the average cost of the prom is a staggering $1,139.00.  A typical prom dress alone can cost over $200.00.  For many of our local teens, especially those who are economically disadvantaged, this cost is prohibitive.

To make sure every teen has a chance to attend, the Ocean County Library is having a prom dress drive.

Dresses will be made freely available to middle school and high school aged students attending graduations and dances. Limit is one dress per person. Dresses include long gowns and short cocktail dresses plus there are also shoes and accessories available.
