Book On Toms River Cancer Cluster Wins Pulitzer Prize

A book on the Toms River cancer cluster has been awarded the prestigious Pulitzer Prize.

Author Dan Fagin is a resident of Long Island, but wrote "Toms River: A Story of Science and Salvation," which is published by Bantam Books, according to NJ News Commons.

The Pulitzer committee said the book “deftly combines investigative reporting and historical research to probe a New Jersey seashore town’s cluster of childhood cancers linked to water and air pollution," NJ News Commons reported.

The book centers on the Ciba-Geigi company's actions in the local area.

Fagin was awarded a $10,000 prize.

The book is available on Amazon.com.
