'Chase's Place' Dedicated in Normandy Beach

The playground is named in honor of Chase Kowalski, one of the Newtown victims.

A dedication ceremony was held in Brick's Normandy Beach section earlier this evening, in honor of the construction of Chase’s Place, the new Normandy Beach Playground.

The playground is named in honor of Chase Kowalski, one of the Newtown shooting victims.

"Chase's playground on Normandy Beach will be a very special memorial and reminder of our wonderful family time that we spent in Normandy Beach and Seaside Heights," according to a post on the Chase Kowalski Memorial Fund Facebook page.

The project is part of the Sandy Ground Project: Where Angels Play, which aims to construct playgrounds in Hurricane Sandy-ravaged areas in honor of the victims of Newtown.

This is the Firefighter’s Mutual Benevolent Associations’ 8th playground and interestingly enough, Kowalski’s baseball uniform number was 8.
