Island Beach's Baby Ospreys Receive Tracking Bands

Bands will help scientists track birds' migratory habits

Volunteer Ben Wurst, habitat program manager with the Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey, carefully placed bands around the legs of the four, four-week-old ospreys at a nest at Island Beach State Park Thursday afternoon.

The bands will allow scientists to keep tabs on the birds, and track them to see if they return to the park once they are grown.
