Long Beach Island Welcomes Back Chocolate Week

Southern Ocean Chamber encouraging people to book their Valentine's Day weekend plans now.

The Long Beach Island Region will be layered with chocolate-covered specials for all to enjoy, on Feb. 9-18,  for the popular winter event Chocolate Week. 

Officials with the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce note the event will include specials, discounts and deals to encourage Valentine’s Day getaways, unique family winter breaks or President's Day visitors.

"Start planning your 2013 with confidence that the LBI Region is ready and waiting post Sandy,"  Lori A. Pepenella, who is the  Destination Marketing Director for the Long Beach Island Region DMO, said in a prepared statement.

Some long-time favorites are back, such as vacation rental open houses, which are complimented by chocolate kisses, a Chocolate Cooking Class Weekend at Minerva’s Bed and Breakfast by the Sea,  free fudge demos and sampling at Country Kettle Fudge and Chocolate Turtles at the Chocolate Week Science Saturday hosted by the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts and Sciences.

Some new and exciting twists this year include a complementary Hot Cocoa Chocolate Bar for guests checking into the Engleside Inn, chocolate dessert at Pinzimino Tratoria, and Tuckerton Seaport Cupid’s Chocolate Covered Arrow Murder Mystery Dinner Show.
