No Summer? No Problem: Events Galore at the Shore

Seaside Heights brings a jammed packed weekend of events for the first weekend of Locals' Summer

Well, its official, summer is over. Everyone from college students to kindergarten children are all back to school. The bennys have gone home and we get to move on with our lives. However, you can rollover your summer fun into as events are still being hosting throughout Ocean County. Here are your events to keep you enjoying your weekends during Locals' Summer, perhaps the best time of year.

Seaside Heights is jammed packed for a thrilling weekend. On Friday, the Boardwalk Bed Race among local businesses will take place at 6 p.m. at the Franklin Avenue Stage. It is free for all spectators. On Saturday, celebrate Irish heritage by attending Shamrock Fest. Shop around Irish craft and Irish retail vendors as the event will be located on the boardwalk between the two amusement piers from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

On Sunday be sure to visit Seaside Heights again as they have their Vintage Automobile 33rd Annual Car Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m on the boulevard. Also, be sure to attend the Seafood in Seaside Festival. The festival is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will have food vendors, live entertainment, and artists.

Already missing the sand between your toes? Then be sure to check out the last two showings of the Movies on the Beach Series. On Friday, National Treasure will be played at 8:15p.m., while on Saturday; Ferris Bueller will be played at 8:15p.m. All moviegoers will be seated on the beach at Hiering Avenue Ocean Front Stage.

If all that wasn’t enough for you, don’t forget to watch some football. Whether it’s high school season which begins Friday or the opening weekend of the NFL which begins tomorrow.

On a sadder note, this Sunday marks the 10th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center. Be sure to keep all those in mind who have been affected from . There are a variety of events to mark the anniversary, as well as several memorial sites in and at .
