Snow Winding Down, Colder Temperatures Coming

by Patricia A. Miller

Although the National Weather Service's winter storm advisory is in effect until 5 p.m., the snow is winding down and colder temperatures are on the way.

Skies will begin to partially clear in late afternoon. The weather service is calling for mostly clear skies tonight, with a low near 24 degrees. Winds will be from the west at 13 to 16 miles per hour.

Most of the school districts in Ocean County closed or had early dismissals because of the snow. Ocean County College closed at 12:30 p.m.

The colder temperatures could result in icy patches on streets and slippery conditions, the weather service said.
