Sunny Skies And Cooler Temperatures On The Way

Plenty of sunshine this week as cooler temperatures come to the area

Last week’s prolonged period of rain from Tropical Storm Lee continued to saturate the ground, leading to nearly 10 inches of rain in Phillipsburg in northwest New Jersey.

This week, the sun will return and the ground will once again get a chance to dry out, as there are few chances of rain in the near future. A cool Canadian air mass will then allow for fall-like temperatures to come to the area later in the week.

On Monday, our area will see partly sunny skies with temperatures reaching the low-80s. The humidity levels will be low allowing for comfortable conditions outside. The wind may gust up to 15 mph throughout the day.

There will be mostly sunny skies on Tuesday with temperatures once again making their way into the low-80s. Tuesday should be the warmest day of the week before the temperatures begin to slide downward throughout the remainder of the week.

By midweek, there will be a mixture of clouds and sun with temperatures in the low-80s. There is the slight chance of a light rain shower later in the afternoon.

A colder air mass will begin to descend into our region on Thursday with temperatures only making their way into the high-60s. There will be mostly sunny skies with wind gusts up to 20 mph.

The final day of the work week will bring along even cooler temperatures, only reaching the low-70s. There will be partly sunny skies with some passing clouds.

The weekend will begin with party sunny skies and temperatures in the high-60s. The wind may gust to near 25 mph. On Sunday, we will see mostly sunny skies with the temperatures only making their way into the mid-60s.

Looking ahead, the temperatures should rebound back into the upper-70s next week and we will see the thermometer reach the 80 degree mark several more times before summer comes to an end later this month.
