Toms River Family's Experience with Mixed Race Acceptance Featured

New York Times includes Toms River family in a series of articles on mixed race families

One Toms River family shared their experience as a mixed-race family, as part of a series of articles in the The New York Times today.

The Greenwood family of Toms River recalled interactions they've had with strangers, sharing how they deal with some racially insensitive questions asked of them by total strangers.

The series, called Race Remixed, looks at the growing number of families with ancestral roots spanning multiple continents and races across generations: "One in seven new marriages is between spouses of different races or ethnicities, for example. And among American children, the multiracial population has increased almost 50 percent, to 4.2 million, since 2000," says today's article.
