The Monmouth County Broom and Brew is collecting holiday gifts for local kids affected by the storm. We are working with administrations from the Matawan-Aberdeen and Keansburg school districts, and with a group accepting gifts for Union Beach - everything will get distributed directly back into our own community. We are currently accepting new (unwrapped) toys, books for all ages, winter hats, scarves and mittens/gloves. Email broomandbrew@gmail.com for details on how to donate. Monetary donations can also be made at http://gogetfunding.com/project/holiday-drive-for-kids-affected-by-hurricane-sandy 100% of the donation amounts (minus the small site fees) will be used to purchase gifts from the wish lists we'll be receiving for the kids. We will also be having a donation drive at which you can pick a child's wish list from our Giving Tree on Dec. 9 at the Plainsboro Center for Relation and Healing (more details to come).
