September 4, 2008: Oscar Winning Film, Starring Toms River Native
Graduate of Toms River East, Brian Geraghty, lands role in Oscar winning movie.
Sept. 4, 2008, was opening day for the feature film The Hurt Locker, starring Toms River native Brian Timothy Geraghty.
Geraghty, born in Toms River and a High School East Class of 1993 graduate, went from his hometown to New York City, eventually landing a brief role on the Sopranos, before catching the eye of Hollywood casting.
In the Hurt Locker, which went on to win a 2009 Oscar, Geraghty played Specialist Owen Eldridge.
