Last Chance: Free Carousel of Music Concerts

Series comes to a close this weekend with Friday-Sunday events

The concert series has been rocking, serenading, jazzing and orchestrating all summer long.

But this week, it’s the final installment of the popular free concert series.

Check out:

  • Aug 26, 7 p.m., Toms River Municipal Band, , Toms River. The band has played multiple times in this concert series. The popular local performers return for the final weekend.
  • Aug 27, 7 p.m., Lakewood Jazz Ensemble, Ocean County Library, Toms River. This 20-member band can really swing. Featuring performers from throughout the state, the musicians have even recorded with many current big names.
  • Aug 31, 6 p.m., Hotel California Tribute to the Eagles, Veterans Park, Berkeley. The Berkeley concert is such a lovely place. So live it up with the Hotel California as the tribute band belts out the superhits from the classic rock group The Eagles.

The Carousel of Music began in the late 1970s and was started by Franklin Fischer. It began as a means of free entertainment for the citizens of Ocean County.

The series is run with help from the , , Toms River Township, Township of Berkeley, Beachwood Borough and the Borough of Ship Bottom, and featured a 34-concert schedule throughout July and August.

With the downtown Toms River concert falling after 6 p.m., is free is area lots.
