Pianist Sets Performance at Toms River Library

The following event announcement was submitted by the Ocean County Library:

Cuba born pianist Juan Pablo Subirana will perform at four branches of the Ocean County Library in August.
Born in Havana, Subirana has performed across America and the world. His versatility permits him to interpret not only classical music, but also contemporary and popular music. Drawing from his own inspiration he has selected well-known pieces and combined their musical themes to make them more attractive and dynamic to the listener.

In 1980 Subirana came to the US in the Mariel Exodus. Shortly after his arrival he was granted a full scholarship to attend Hartford University in Connecticut where he received his Bachelors in Music degree. He subsequently earned a Masters degree in Music from the University of Miami.

Subirana will perform at the following library branches:

Jackson, 2 Jackson Dr., Wed. Aug. 21, 7 p.m.

Brick, 301 Chambers Bridge Rd., Thur. Aug. 22, 2 p.m.
