Soldier's Story Comes Alive

Revolutionary War hero Ned Hector depicted in special black history month event at library

People came to Toms River's  Ocean County Library to hear stories about Ned Hector's incredible life.  Noah Lewis, of Burlington County, depicted Hector in Revolutionary War times, when he was in Col. Proctor's 3rd Pennsylvania Artillery.

Lewis acted out the part and teaching the audience how to load an imaginary cannon just like back in Revolutionary War times, the way that Ned Hector did when he was a bombadier.

This event was part of a historical telling of one man's story for  Black History Month, held Saturday afternoon at the library.
