Card Program Aims to be Consumer "Gift" to Downtown Toms River

Nearly 30 Toms River businesses to date are signed up for gift card program

With the revitalization of Downtown Toms River currently underway, a handy asset for customers to enjoy its businesses has proven to be its gift card program launched earlier this month, according to Executive Director Jody Alessandrine.

Alessandrine said that 25 businesses are already activated to accept the gift cards, with a few more imminent approvals on the way. “Soon, we’ll have almost 30 businesses on our list,” he said.

“Our downtown is growing, currently. “It’s one ingredient to augment the businesses currently there and to attract new businesses to the area,” Alessandrine added. “With our access to the river, and the redevelopment plan underway, I think it will quadruple the ratable base here. There are a lot of good things going on. The gift card program is an important piece of the puzzle, but in pales in comparison to some of the other things now taking place.”

Downtown Toms River Gift Cards will be available anytime online at downtowntomsriver.com, as well as physically in the Downtown Toms River office, located at 218 Main Street, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (except federal holidays).
